Via Crucis

Good Friday (10:30)

Mary Magdalene, the Virgin Mary, Veronica, the Apostles and other characters join the procession.

On a stage 50 metres wide by 15 metres tall, Jesus' last Station of the Cross is presented. This is the setting for the dramatic act where Jesus shares his last words before he dies and is moved to the tomb. With this final spectacular scene the representation of the Passion of Christ ends.

The burial procession

Good Friday (19:00)

Mary Magdalene, the Virgin Mary, Veronica, the Apostles and other characters join the procession.

With the nature of the 'pasos' and the sombre state of the characters, the procession takes on an atmosphere of profound sadness and loss.

The procession starts at the Plaza San Severino, before passing through the streets Correría and Martín Mendía, and returning to the starting point.

The Silent Procession

Good Friday (21:30)

Fewer visitors know of this procession, but it is one of the most special ones. The Roman guard walk as silently as the grave alongside the 'pasos' Cristo del Cementerio and La Dolorosa to the cemetery. After a brief prayer for the dead, the 'paso' del Cristo is put in its usual place, on one of the walls of the cemetery chapel. The procession then returns, with Our Lady of Sorrows, to the parish church alongside hundreds of attendees carrying lit candles.

The procession starts at the Plaza San Severino, before passing through the streets Pío Bermejillo and Martín Mendía, crosses the bridge Millonario and takes the path towards the cemetery.
